PLANET IP Camera and Media Converter Participate in Rescue of Miners in Chile October 14, 2010.

The rescue of the trapped Chilean miners has been finally achieved . Amid the most important moment, the final part of rescue, and while many countries made all their efforts to provide the state-of-the-art devices to deliver a safe rescue, PLANET Technology was present not only at this final moment but had been there since the very first beginning.

From the mine to the world via Internet.

On the 22 August,when the rescue team found there was a slim chance of survival for the Chilean miners that had been trapped for over two weeks, since 5 August; the communications between the rescue team and the trapped miners became top priority. Transworld S.A, partner of PLANET Technology in Chile, offered the PLANET IP camera ICA-H312 and media converter FT-802S15 to help set up video and audio conferences among the rescue team, the family members and the trapped miners in order to watch their life and health condition. The first communication instances moved the whole world as the initial images and audio were conveyed by PLANET products. In the dark and humid shaft, the camera provided clear images in the darkness with it´s infrared capability. (IR LED). Also, for the long-distance and high-quality video conferencing, a media converter co-worked with the camera in order to assure stable and high-resolution image and audio networking. When interactive video and audio was possible through video with a two-way audio system, vital survival hope arrived to the trapped miners , and also hope to the concerned people of the world. We are very proud that in this rescue history, PLANET technology participated from the initial stages by providing the most advanced products to the rescue efforts , and by means of our products conveyed hope to the whole world.
